Ashley Tisdale: In 2008. Tisdale along with the High School Musical cast performed live a Christmas version of What Time Is It? from High School Musical 2 at the Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade. In November 2007, Tisdale presented a small part at 75th Rockefeller Christmas Tree in New York City and performed her songs. Tisdales first starring role came in 2008 in the ABC Family Original Movie, Picture This, where she played Mandy Gilbert. The movie was released on DVD in 2008. In addition, Tisdale is credited as one of the executive producers of the movie. She appeared in the credits of the movie Bring It On: In It to Win It, where she performed He Said She Said.

The album debuted at number five on the Billboard 200 album charts, selling 64,000 copies. Tisdale described Headstrong as a chance for her fans to get to know her better. I want people to know that Im a real person, and that Ive been through normal situations, like crushes and heartbreaks., said Tisdale. She also admitted that the album was called Headstrong because she is a pretty headstrong type of person. Be Good to Me was released as her first single, though He Said She Said was planned to be the first single. Several promotional singles were released from the album. During 2008, Not Like That was released as the third official single in European countries and in Brazil, while Suddenly was released as the fourth single on Germany and Brazil.
